Sachin Tendulkar

The most successful cricketer ever 

 

 

Sachin Tendulkar is seen as being one of the best batsmen of all time. He started the sport at the age of 11 and made his debut for India at the age of 16 in a test match against Pakistan. He went on to play for the Mumbai Indians  in the IPL who he played domestic cricket for, for 24 years. His stats just compliment and emphasize how great a batsman he really was. he was the only player ever to score 100 international centuries in his carrier, he was the first cricketer to score 200 runs in one game. He also proudly holds the record for the most runs in test and domestic cricket.

 

In 2011 he was part of the Indian cricket team that won the 2011 world cup. Earlier in his carrier he received the Arjuna award in 1994 for his outstanding sporting achievement, the Rajiv Ghandi Khel Ratna award in 1997 which is the highest regarded sporting award in India. Then on the 16th of November 2013 he was awarded the Bharat Ratna Indias highest civilian award. So far he is the youngest person to receive this award. He was also the first sportsman to given an hororary rank in the of group captain by the Indian airforce. He was nominated to the upper house in the Indian parliament also.

In October 2013 Tendulkar retired from domestic cricket and later retired from all forms of cricket after his 200th test match. Throughout his career he played 664 international matches in total, he scored 34,356 runs.

In my opinion he is the best cricketer of all time
