During this post I am going to talk to you about cricket bats, mostly modern cricket bats and my favourite bats but firstly I will talk a bit about how bats are made and what they are made from.
Modern good quality cricket bats these days are made from English Willow whereas cheaper cricket bats are usually made from cashmere willow. Some big sports brands such as Adidas and Nike have recently been trying to get into the cricket sports gear field by producing bats and gear but have found it very hard to keep up with the big brand names suck as Grey Nicholls and SS. It really depends on where you play you cricket as in what country or region to what bats you may use. For example the cricket bats popular in in the Indian league or the IPL would be the SS, CA or the MRF bats. Whereas in Europe the more traditional brands would be used such as Gunn and Moore, Kookaburra or Grey Nicholls.
Personally I use an Adidas cricket bat called the Adidas Libro 2015 series, Adidas are a brand that can been see as struggling but they are sponsoring more international players which will boost their sales. I think Adidas are a very good reliable bat but have a high middle.
